Week 47 at Høst
Cozy vibes, new additions and the lead up to Christmas
Hello and welcome back friends! It’s been another busy week at the bakery and we have some very exciting things in the works.
Last week, we introduced our new special pastry; roasted apple, sea buckthorn, honey and thyme. You all seemed to not be able to get enough of it! With such an incredible response, we will continue to have this beautiful pastry this week too.
We also hosted our first knitting club which was extremely cozy and all round good vibes. Two hours of drinking coffee, eating cake, knitting and chatting. A perfect activity for the dark winter months in my opinion. Everyone loved it so much we decided to make it a monthly event! See you in December fellow knitters. We will also be open every Tuesday 11:00-13:00 for parents with babies to have pastry and coffee, and of course we will have our baby croissants for your little ones.
Starting on Wednesday, we will be making fresh Æbleskiver. Enjoyed all around Denmark by children and adults alike, our version is of course made with the beautiful Mariagertoba from Quartz Mølle. It adds a delicate flavour and sweetness that complements the cardamom so well. On the side will be a slow roasted apple compote and a spiced, warm (non-alcoholic) Apple Gløgg, made from apple juice by local producer Farendløse Mosteri.
You will also notice our shelf filled with some new additions! You can now buy our Everything Bagel Seasoning, Christmas Cookies, House Marinaded Olives and Gift Baskets, perfect for gifting loved ones or treating yourself. For those who live further away, we will add some postal options on our website very soon, so make sure to keep an eye out.
This Friday the city lights up the big Christmas tree that just happens to be across the road from us. We will be staying open late, probably until 6 or 7 pm, and setting up a cozy Æbleskiver and Apple Gløgg stall outside the bakery. We will also bake fresh batches of Pastries, Christmas Cookies and Cake that you can buy too. The coffee machine will be on, the Hot Chocolate will be ready, and it will be nice and warm inside. Speaking of Christmas Cookies, you will be able to buy frozen Gingerbread Cookie Dough at the bakery from this week to bake at home! So exciting.
I think that is all for today! Make sure you follow us on instagram @host.bageri for more updates throughout the week! See you at the bakery friends.
